The sound of mexico. A tortilla machine can be heared in every village prior lunchtime. The machine creates flat tortillas out of nixtamalized corn meal which are then baked using gas within the same machine. The metal conveyor causes most of the sound. This is a single cricket next to my building in williamsburg brooklyn, nyc. This was recorded at night with some ambient traffic sound. Loud, clear cricket sound. Recorded with shure mv88 in mid-side, converted to stereo. Cricket is slightly off center to the l side.
